Dear Gwendolyn Yes, the trench
skirt with its modest little foot-and-a-half
hike in front is the latest kick
Of course, skirts are not worn in
the trenches, but there's nothing in
a name anyway, and you'll find this
new skirt just the thing for sprinting
after bargains on a Monday morning,
but it's equally effective for a quick
side-step when the rent man comes'
round too soon or a collector comes
without an invitation. You can get
up some speed in a "trench" skirt, be
lieve your cousin Betty.
There's one thing you must never
forget if you adopt the new trench
skirt, and that's your petticoat
You'll attract enough attention any
way, so why worry the neighbors?
Your Paris-green Cousin Brown
