STUDENTS TO HAVE THEIR OWN
INSTITUTE NIX ON LOEB

bo far as Chicago Hebrew Institute
students are concerned. They are not
going to stand for Loeb running the
institute the way he has.
The 400 students who struck at
Hebrew Institute because Loeb, its
president, would not permit free
speech are going to start an institute
of their own. They met last night to
talk things over denounce Loeb and
lay plans for the new institute.
The building for the new institute
has been decided upon, but its loca
tion will not be made known until the
lease is signed. It is understood to
be in the vicinity of Ashland and Tay
A ball will be given at West Side
Auditorium Saturday night for the
benefit of the new institute.

UP BATHING BEACHES
Yesterday was the hottest day Chi
cago has experienced since 1914, but
being the first day of winter the city
bathing beaches were shut tight

A thermometer at Wilson beach
showed the water was 78 degrees.
The bathing season has apparently
just opened. The weather man says
the hot spell will last for several days.

BELIEVE SPY CAUSED FIRE ON
