Dull, arrested by Officers Wert heimer and Marco on charge of non support filed by his wife, told a story ot a wife who belonged to exclusive clubs, had her own auto, traveled over the country and did the "society caper to a frazzle." When he went broke he said she refused to cut down expenses. "She insisted on our taking a flat on Shendan drive because she said she'd rather die than Jiave her friends know we were broke," Dull said. "I agreed to pay half the rent because 1 had to live on the West Side myself on account of my work. Later we went to a swell apartment and one day I came home at lunch time to be intormed I didn't live there any more. My wife had moved out I was hand ed a card with her address on it 'ihree times this happened at three different places and I used to go to the new address and say: 'Do 1 live here?' They would ask me my name and I'd tell them and they'd tell me that was where I lived." "Discharged," said Judge Hopkins. Spry for stay of execu tion in favor of Joseph Hillstrom, "sweet Ginger" of Industrial Workers of the World and convicted murderer, who may face a firing squad Oct 1. Under Utah's laws, which give con demned man choice between hanging and firing squad, governor has no power to grant a reprieve exceeding 20 days. The supreme court of three members was included in state par dons board which last week refused to interfere with Hillstrom's execu tion. Hillstrom still steadfastlv refused p today to name married woman at whose home he says he was shot and thus possibly prove that wound which led to his conviction was not received in fatal duel with his two victims. At pardons board hearing plan was suggested for Hillstrom to give the woman's name solely to Warden Ar thur Pratt of state penitentiary, who would have made personal investiga tion and if he substantiated Hill strom's story full and unconditional pardon would have been granted. Re gardless of his counsel's urgings, Hillstrom refuses to tell woman's name and would not consider any thing but new trial.
