The typewriter, if you can afford
one, is the best means of teaching
your child how to read, write and
spelL He will learn his letters with
amazing rapidity by typing them.
I can teach any normal child how to
read, write and spell the simpler
words and sentences in 10 days by
use of the typewriter.

them reproduce them and arrange
them in words; then compare them

Begin by transcribing the simple
fairly and animal stories, like Peter
Rabbit and others that will suggest
This idea originated as part of my
Natural Education method.
If I had my way I would burn all
spellers and school grammars, and
allow the children to gain a knowl
edge of orthography by copying
poems and stories on the typewriter.
