A $25,000 smoke of opmm was re
cently held in San Francisco's "civic
center when confiscated contraband
narcotics were destroyed by order of
the state pharmacy board. The pipes
shown in the picture are mostly silver
inlaid ebony and of other costly ma
from $50 to $300 each.
This public destruction of contra
band is but one phase of the govern
ment's effort to stamp out the opium
traffic in the United States.
