DEMOCRATIC WOMEN PLAY SANTA CLAUS TO
TWELFTH WARD CHILDREN
A few of the women who made the 12th ward Christmas tree party
a success: Mrs. Stelk, Mrs. Kula, Mrs.rShultz, Mrs. Prince, Mrs. Zre
neck and Miss Anna O'Donohue.
Four hundred and twenty-five chil

Pilsen hall. For many of them it is
the only Christmas they will have.
They are the ones Santa Claus
usually overlooks.
The 12th Ward Women's Demo
cratic league imported their own
Santa Claus for the occasion, and a
monster tree strung with colored
electric lights was hung with pres
ents for the youngsters. There were
toys, games, candy and fruit for all.
Some of the luckier youngsters,
whose Christmas comes next Satur
day, helped entertain - the younger
kiddies.
Miss Helen Cermak, daughter of
the chief bailiff of the municipal
court, made a big hit with the kids
with her fancy dances. Irene Red
mond, 9 years old, gave a piano solo,
and Helen Stelk and Ella Schultz
gave recitations
Mrs. Frank Kreml, Miss Krall, Miss
Koral, Mrs. Higgins, Mrs. Redmond,
Miss Bailey and Mrs. Priller were
among those who assisted in the
work of carrying out the Christmas
party.
Many poor families in the 12th
ward are being looked after by the
women's league.
