JUDGE HOLDS ALL COURTS IN CONTEMPT
HANDS IN HIS RESIGNATION
Portland, Ore., Jan. 27. Courts

Judge John H. Stevenson of the mu
nicipal court here.
"It merely adds to the misery of
people who need help," he says. "It
does not cure evil. I am sick and

has handed in his resignation, to be
come effective Feb. 1. He has been
on the bench over two years. Mayor
Albee tried, unavailably, to persuade
him to reconsider.

from the burden of sending people to

been doing this for several years.
