er door sobered them. He came in
"Hello, you folks! Glad to see you
all!" he said. "Mildred, dear!"
He kissed her fondly, and at that
moment Mildred Benton knew that
the latest platonic infatuation had
become dissipated even without her
carrying out of Joe's scheme.

day," said Tom. "I'm as hungry as
a bear. Hurry up the dinner!"
