As a kid Joe was forever making
pictures while apparently poring over
his readin', writin' and 'rithmetic.
Many's the time he deceived his
teacher. But all the while he was
developing a native talent and. until
three years ago was fully determined,
to eke out his livelihood at cartoon
ing. Then, just when he commenced
to make it tough for Rembrandt, Ra
phael and the other Old Masters, he
chanced to drop into Prof. Bill
O'ConnelTs school of arms. He was
stung by the boxing bee.
