MAYOR GETS BODYGUARD SAY
THREATS WERE MADE
Threats of bodily harm have been
made against Mayor Thompson, ac
cording to the explanation for the
personal bodyguard of six special de
tectives and two motorcycle police
men given the mayor while he tour
ed the city campaigning last night.
No one but the president of the na
tion or some notable visitor had be
fore been honored with such a guard.
Last night the conspicuous guard of
the mayor attracted people to his

the husbands in South Bend are due
