me, and in Canada, in London, Paris,
Sydney, Calcutta, Tokio, Pekin.
And that is my inspiration! It spurs
me on to do grea and still greater
things.
When I act before my silent one
eyed critic my clicking camera I
am playing to millions -o my people.
I am trying to rouse the emotions of
the phlegmatic Chinese, the stolid
Dutch, the conservative English and
-o-
the impressionable, highstrung aLtin
races. I am cognizant of no one na
tionality. I must make my art in
ternational, understandable in any
tongue.
They have told me I succeed in
doing that I have received letters
from the world's small spots from
unknown, almost hidden places and
they say my people understand. That
is my inspiration!

MISS 1830 MAKES BOW IN FASHION WORLD
Here's httle Miss 1830 with her
primly pointed basque, "just like big
sister's," and her wide and stiffly
folded skirt, her old-fashioned bon
net and old-fashioned little coat trip
ping into fashion's limelight to show
how small girls are going to dress
this summer.
The child of the 1830 period was
discovered by Mme. Becker of the
