The Baby Saved From Grave.
Atlanta, Ga., May 8. None the
worse for having been buried alive
in a cemetery near Adairsville, near
here, "The Baby" that's all the
name she has is smiling and coo
ing her way into the hearts of the
matron and nurses of the Methodist
matron and nurses of the Methodist
ophanage at Decatur today.
And while every comfort is being
provided for the babe, its mother a
country girl who must pay the price
of unwedded motherhood is in a
dismal cell charged with assault with!
intent to, murder.
The girl-mother sought no friend
or mother's counsel when she knew
the event of birth was at hand. In
stead, she made her way to the lone
ly cemetery and brought her baby
into the world.
For one mad, ecstatic hour she
held the tiny form to her breast, then
crawled away to an empty burial-plot
and with trembling hands scooped
out a shallow grave. She placed a
