Aurora, III:, June 24. Miss Bessie
Amell, 20, a nurse, was never, stingy
about smiles. Today she need not
be stingy about anything. Her
smiles have won a fortune for her.
Miss Amell was in professional
training in Ravenswood hospital in
Chicago. Mrs. W. S. Blake of Los
Angeles was one of her patients.
Mrs. Blake was old and alone in the
world. The only sunshine that

Mrs. Blake had no other heirs.

the money," says Miss Amell. "I can
hardly! realize that Mrs. Blake has
left me so much. I did so little for
A. A. Derrah and wife of Perkins,
the smallest town in Maine, were
elected to five offices at the annual
town meeting. Mr. Derrah was
chosen town clerk, constable, auditor
and truant officer, while Mrs. Derrah
was elected to the school committee.
