Jake came back to Chicago yesterday after an eastern trip. Aid. Rob't M. Buck, who intro duced council resolution for probe of the school board's action dropping 42 teachers with records for efficien cy, was pointed out by Loeb as "an aldermanic demagogue," seeking ad vertising and publicity." "Our records are public records," explained Loeb, indicating that he has no objection to the aldermen reading the printed proceedings of the school board or any other mate rial handed out to the general public That certain records of the board will be keptaway from the aldermen to a last ditch fight, Jake Loeb showed clearly, however, in his state ment: "The council committee will get all the information from the board it is entitled to get In my opinion, the council has no right to investigate matters which are pending before the board, especially questions affecting the employment of teachers. "The only object is politics. They want votes. They are taking what they think is the popular side by abusing the board of education and are trying to secure votes by so doing. "The religious issue has been in- jected-fey an aldermanic demagogue who has been abusing the school bpard and using the school system for his own ends ever since he came Into the city council Every other attack he has made on us has failed miserably. When he dragged in the religious issue it was for no other purpose than for advertising and publicity." Buck is chairman of the schools sub-committee, which tried last year to get a look at the school board financial accounts. Pres. Jake Loeb and Sec'y Lewis Larsen refused this information and a decision from the . appellate court that the council shall have the right to inspect the money records of the school board has been appealed to the supreme court by action of the Loeb majority. It is this action to which Loeb refers as pre vious "abuse" by Aid. Buck. " o o SULLIVAN FACTION ENDORSES HOYNE OTHER POLITICS The Roger Sullivan faction yester-' day endorsed Maclay Hoyne for re nomination for state's attorney. Al though several politicians whose friends have been swatted by the prosecutor were against him, cooler heads pointed out that the rest of the Sullivan ticket would probably be strengthened if Hoyne was at the head of the Democratic county ticket Practically all of the other places on the ticket will be filled by Sullivan out-and-outers. No action was taken on endorsing Gov. Dunne. There is still talk of Raymond Robins being entered by the Sullivan men. Thos. M. Sullivan was endorsed for Sani tary Board pres. in place of T. A. Smyth. The Progressives and the Deneen men got together and framed a ten tative slate that named John E Nor thup for state's att'y; C. H. Sergei for sanitary board head; Joe Haas for recorder; John Siman for Superior ct clerk and W. F. Lipps for Circuit ct clerk. The Thompson-Brundage factions got togetner ana temporarily seiect pd Harry B.
