FALSING A CHILD TO BE A MOVIE ACTRESS
- " i-fUatsoOK PnOTO V
Mrs. George Bech and Her Daughter, Zoe Rae,
Photoplay Star.
Famous Universal Baby
BY MRS. GEORGE BECH,
Mother of Zoe Rae, Highest Paid and
Most Famous Child Player
in the Movies
The first picture my little girl ever
worked in was called "Love Versus
Pride." It was produced by the Selig
company of Chicago.
I had never made any attempt to
get Zoe into pictures. This com'
pany, however, was looking for a
clever baby and someone told the
director about Zoe. He came to the
house and asked to try .my baby in
a film play. That's how !Zpe got her
start. She was three years old at
the time and from her first appear
ance showed a remarkable aptitude
for work before the camera. .
In all, Zoe has worked in i50 pic
tures, many of them five-reelers. It
seems that I am particularly fortun
ate in having such a remarkable rec
ord of my child's life. This picture
history of her childhood will grow
more valuable as time goes on. ,
