Front and back views of 'two-piece
afternoon gown a dressy dress. It
is made of midnight blue water wave
taffeta and chiffon velvet, the collar
and half panel, shown in front of the
skirt, being of the latter material.
The belt is of water wave, taffeta. In
the back a shrdow lace' collar is
shown, a feature of the gown that
enlivens the pleasing effect. The J
back part of the helt is pipe-organ
tucked. The hat is mushroom shape,
hatter's plush, faced witti white
plush 'and has a metal embroidered
girdle.

SWEET POTATO PIE
A pie filling which is supposed to
be equal to genuine New England
pumpkin pie is made by mixing two
clips of milk with two cups of boiled
and mashed sweet potato and four
beaten eggs.
Add one-fourth cup brown sugar
or molasses or maple syrup and
season with, allspice and cinnamon.
Bake like custard or pumpkin pie.
