where extradition proceedings are
pending against the detective.
Biddinger was indicted here in a
police graft scandal and has been
named m several others which occur
red while he was a city detective. He
is fighting extradition from New
York.

BISHOP DUNNE INJURED, ONE
PRIEST KILLED, IN AUTO WRECKJ
Peoria, III., Oct. 4. In the worst
automobile accident to' happen here
in many months Rev. Father
Schuetz. chancellor of the Peoria
i diocese, was killed outrieht and
Bishop Dunne of the Peoria diocese
and Father Shannon, vicar general,
were seriously injured. The automo
bile turned over, pinning Father
Schuetz under the wreckage. Bishop
Dunne sustained internal injuries and
Father Shannon sustained a broken
leg. The .party was on its way to
Pnnceville to conduct confirmation
services.
RUMANIAN ARMY ATTACKED

crossed Danube into Bulgaria is un
der attack from three sides. '

of Jenikoj, south of Seres road.

Petrograd. Russian gunboats
have steamed down Danube river and
are bombarding Bulgarian left flank
near Basovs in Dobrudja. '

Belvidere, III., Oct 4. The tramp
what attacked Catherine O'Connor,
13, whenon her way to school near
here today, was caught about noon
and is locked up in the county jail
at Rockford. The girl is a niece of
Kate F. O'Connor of Chicago.
