W. W. Wilcox, a dairy farmer near
Denver, Colo., has placed in his barn
a phonograph, which is played every
day at milking time. Mr. Wilcox
says the music makes the cows' milk
flow more easily.
To give an idea of the size of the
dam just recently completed at Ele
phant Butte, N. M., one writer
explains that the water held back is
sufficient to cover the entire state of
Connecticut to a depth of ten inches.
