RAIL MEN! LISTEN TO NAGEL!
Charles Nagel, railroad lawyer and
director, -who was secretary of com
merce and labor under Pres. Taft,
was at Republican national head
quarters yesterday. He says Mis
souri will go al for Hughes. Demo
cratic managers ask railroad men
especially to note that Charlie Nagel
is for Hughes. Nagel sat as an um
pire, supposedly neutral, in the arbi
tration of wages on 98 western rail
ways last year. After the award was
made and the railroad workers found
themselves kicked in the slats with
practically no wage raise and no
8-hour day, Nagel was shown to be
an attorney for railroads and a mem
ber of the directorate of one road.
