TWO ARE KILLED IN ELEVATOR
CRASH AT FLORSHEIM CO. ,
Two were killed and probably 13
were Injured , many of them serious
ly, when an elevator dropped from
the sixth floor to the basement at
the factory of the Florsheim Shoe
Co., 541-571 W. Adams St., this
morning. The men and women in
the car were going to their work.

by large majority. In Terre Haute,
Ind., Debs loses seat in congress by
1,500 votes.

Benson, Socialist candidate for pres
ident, declared today he was well
pleased with the vote apparently
polled by his party yesterday. He was
especially gratified at reported re
turn to congress of Victor L. Ber
ger and the election of other Social
ists to the house. Benson was rest
ing at his home today, having return
ed from a transcontinental speaking
tour only yesterday.
