Over 1,000 Cook county jobs fell
into the hands of Republican profes
sional politicians through Tuesday's
election. The jobs pay $1,822,130 a
year. The Deneen men get the most
of these, for which Charley is very
thankful. It is rumored that Charley
and his little pal, Roy O. West, would
have been cooked birds if they had
not been able soon to provide for the
army of starved patriots who have
been following their banner.
Through Chas. Sergei, new Bani
tary board head, and Matt Mueller,
sanijtary trustee-elect, Deneen and
West get a finger in the sanitary
board melon. And the sanitary dis
trict has a payroll of $1,056,300 an
nually. Deneen, through Edward R. Lit
zinger, board of review, gets a share
