BREAKING INTO THE, MOVIES .
My father was an executive for a
railway company, and as a girl I
numbered among my friends many
of thosja who were in the fascinating
employment of handling " trains, r
lived hi a railroad atmosphere. I
came to knowjhe lives of the rail
way operatives and I found many a
silent .hero among them.
I felt it my mission in life to tell
the public o'f the brave deeds these
men were doing. To perform thlsj
duty I began a railroad novel Some
where among my childhood relics I
still have 40 pages of the copy that
was to tell of the exploits of these
hardy men of the yards.
After I grew up and had gotten
my chance, by accident, to appear in
photoplays, I again thought of my
hero frienda and evolved the Idea of
telling railroad stories on the screen.
