In the exhibition games with the
coast teams Steve Yerkes is iitting
in the clean-up position, the place re
served for Larry Doyle. That fact
is significant. In the face of physi
cians' dictums it is fair proof that
Doyle will be in the game in a short
time. Otherwise, Vic Saier would be
shifted into the fourth notcli in the
batting order, for Yerkes is certain
ly not a clean-up walloper.
Oakland scored seven times in one
inning off Dutch Reuther, beating
the Cubs, who counted twice on a
wallop by Deal. Carter and Perry

Milk will probably go as high as 12
cents a quart during the coming
summer. The Borden Milk Co. has '
taken the lead in the move for high
er prices. Yesterday they signed a
new, contract with milk producers
which, they insist, will force them
to raise the retail price. The other
big firms are expected to fall in line
during the next few days.
Health Com'r Robertson yesterday
charged that food hogs are hoarding
potatoes in hope there will be a rail
road strike, in event they will make a
clean-up at the expense of the peo
