ever given In the city when Mrs David
aCelth threw open her beautiful home to
two or three hundred gue tii on Thurs
day Wild mustard the dainty milk
weed lower and other bloom of the
near hills were In nbumlnncc with
JarknpurH bachelor button marigolds
and nasturtlnns helping In tho many
artistic schemes of decoration The
large reception hall was In blue nnd
gold mustard nnd larkspurs being
combined with bows of blue and gold
ribbon on the staircase and the many
flower fllled Jardlnelres The same
colors were lined In tho drawlngroom
and an cffefitlve picture was the punch
table the bowl hieing sunk In n block
of Ice which was draped with clusters
of KM pee In tho grapevines surround
Ing It were scattered ornntres and lem
ons aiding In the color idea The li
brary was one of the notably artistic
fipots the mantel having n bed of pink
and white bachelor buttons from which
rose sprays oC Gypsy llllum whlln
from a vase nt ann side ascended a tall
spray of the flllum Its long fronds
fnlllng In a filmy cloud over tho mir
ror Vases nnd Jardlnolrcs of the
flowers stood about the room The
dlnlngroom hall a strlMng combination
of blue and green which harmonized
with the prevnlllng tint ofthe room
Tho mantel and sideboard held vases nf
wild parsley and bachelors buttons
whllo wallpockets hung about the
room tilled with the saran lowers nnd
from the chandelier were suspended
baskets of them tho chandelier being
festooned nlso In tho blue and green
The central picture was the tablewhlch
held three baskets tilled with the bach
elor buttons tied with green bows
with streamers ot the ribbon extending
from each basket forming n circle
on the table The rooms through
out were beautifully arranged nnd tho
entire house was thrown open to the
EUfsts The porches wore also rhnrm

and seals for tho convenience nf the
guests Tho hours were from three to
six and the affair altogether a most
delightful one

way over the entrance was studded
with them nnd the effect throughout
was most beautiful Navajo blankets
and rugs were strewn on tho lawn nnd
with the chairs made cosy nooks for the
guttts while the veranda was also at
ractlyely arranged lemonade being
erl rlhem throughout the evening
The dancing floor wus laid on the east
side nnd an orchestra rendered de
lightful music Tho scone with the
myriad young girls In their dainty sum
mer gowns WAil a charming picture
and the event will bo long remembered
by those present The host and guest
