morning after a long Illness.
Ho was a nativo of Lancashire,
England, about sixty yoars ago,

country in 1851. Ho was an officer
of tho Royal Lancashire
militia for four years prior to his
om'gration to Australia. In tho
Colonies ho was a raombor of tho
