In S. lyjuis County, has bcui destrojed by fire. The last fire occurred Saturday evening ul 7 o'clock. After each fire Mr. Bailey was vehement in his declaration that an incendiary was tho caue. and he Is certain that the same explanation holds good un this occasion. After he and his family had succeeded Saturday evening In extinguishing the Hames a can of half-filled coal oil as found near by. The matter was reported to the Sheriff at Clajton jestirdaj. and that of ficial is now on tho trail of a jilted suitor of one of Mr. Bailey's daughters, to .v-k him to explain certain threats that he Is reported to have made. The first loss that the Bailey family suf fered by fire was a jear ago last April, when the home of Bailey, Sr.. w.tb discov ered In Hames one night about 12 n'cloik. The flamea gained headway rapidlj. and the members of the family had narrow s tapes. A month later the home of William Bailey. Jr.. was dcstrocd. Two months later the stable of William Bailey, Sr., was burned, and a month later his son's ptable caught fire. Homes and stables were re built, and a watch was detailed to prevent further conflagrations. Nothing further oc curred until Saturday t veiling, when the Mable of Bailey, Sr., burned the second time. The watch was withdrawn about a month ago. as the members of the family thought that thtlr enemy had -vanished. The stable was totally detroycd. In ad dition, four mules, a horse and a dog. that Mr. Bailey kept In his stable, were killed. By hard work Mr. Bailey saved his house and a bin containing &C3 bushels ot wheat.
