Cardinals Play Xcvr Y'ork Brorrns
Entertain Detroit Team.
For tho second time this season the two
big- leagues will clash on SL Louis dates
to-day. A week ago yesterday and last San
day was to have brought the local teams
together, but both games were postponed
on account of rain. .Mondav the weather
was threatening, so that nothing like rei
resentatlve crowds attended eitner of the
parks.
To-day's game should be a. pretty fair test
of tho relative drawing powers of the two
teams, provided the day is clear. The
Browns return tied with Philadelphia for
third place after losing two out of. three
at Detroit. On the oriier hand the Cardi
nals have won six out of their last seven
games, five of them in three days a cred
itable record for Ihc team. The Donovan
ites ore now crowding Philadelphia for tho
leadership of the second division in the
National League.
Tho Detroit team is a far superior organ
ization to the New York team, which has
