The improved condition of tbe Kaleigh and Uastt n Kail Koad will en able me to fill with dispatch and punctuality all orders after the 1st of July. The following certificate will show the character of the work executed at the above W orks : Arrant, Cumberland, May 15, 1852 Mr. Sit as Burks, Dear Sir: Our Engine and Mills, made at your 6hops, have been at work nearly two months, and fully meet our expectations. The Ewgink, as to finish and strength, performance and durarilitt, is in ferior to none in the State of the same class made here or elsewhere. The Mills run with a smoothness and speed truly astonishing. In ordinary sawing we cut in a common sized log, 1 foot in 3? seconds or 16 feet per minute. We have run, however, through an 18 feet log in 32 seconds or at the rate of 33 feet per minute, by running to tbe top speed we fully believe we can cut 40 feet per minute. The only objection we have heard urged is, it takes two many hands to haul up logs and carry away lumber.
