Direct Trade with trance.
We heartily trust that the attempt at direct
trade with France, inaugurated by tbe arrival
of the in Virginia waters, may
be the beginuingof a commercial alliance with
the old political allies and ancient comrades
in arms of Virginia. We hope that the "Love
Star" will soon increase to a constellation.— '
X* is no nation iv Europe with whom it
d be more to tbe interest and satisfaction

industrious, thrifty and productive race: they
are capable of supplying the Southern market
with all which it requires, and their deport

country bas in general been such as to secure
the esteem and good wishes of Americans.
