It Is Estimated That City
Jail Quarters Will Cost
Marshall Wathlns has received tho
last of the three bids for the installa
tion of the new jail in the city hail
building and tbe bids will be sub
mitted to the city council at their
meeting on Tuesday. It has been
proven that tho present jail is prac
tically useless for Jail purposes an-1
the installation of the new jell will
be completed as soon as possible.
It is estimated that the installation
of the jail will cost about SSOO. As
at present proposed there will be two
large cells which, by putting in a par
tition can be increased to lour. Tho
new Jail will be more convenient
than the old and will be far better
from a sanitary and heating point of
view. The old jail will be rented,
probably as a store house.
