JEFFERY "SIX" AGENT
(From Thorsday'a Daily Jllner.l
C. W. Nash, formerly president of
the General Motors company and prob
ably one of the best known figures in
the automobile industry, is now at
the head of the Nash Motors company
of Kenosha, Wis., builders of the fam
ous Jeffery "Six" pleasure cars and
trucks. Few motor car plants in the
world are as well equipped to build
strictly factory made cars on a quali
ty basis as the great factories of the
4Nash Motors company. This plant
covers 100 acres of ground- and has
32 acres under roof. It employs 3000
skilled mechanics. The Jeffery "Six"
has created a sensation at all the au
tomobile shows where it has been ex
hibited and is much in favor in Ari
zona where it has been introduced.

is in Phoenix, with branches at Tuc
son, Douglas and Bisbee, are the Ari
zone distributors for the Jeffery and

Golf Fans Make
Good Scores On
Kingman Links
(From Thursday Daily Miner.)
Golf enthusiasts took advantage of
the holiday yesterday to play around
the links north of town. The course
was in good condition, most of the
brush piles having been burned. A
number of fans were out both in the
morning and afternoon.
With a little work the course could
be placed in splendid condition. It is
planned to oil and roll the greens and
clear away some of the brush and
weeds in approaching the greens. Ora
Gruninger joined a foursome late in
the afternoon, the scores of which
were as follows:
Nickell 78.
Anderson 92.
Baldwin 80.
Griffin 54.
Gruninger 22 (Two holes).
Fred W. Morrison in Kinsman from
Los Angeles to attend legal matters
before the superior court. Mr. Morri
son is one of the old time residents of
Kingman, and it is always a visit of
pleasure for him to return here to
meet his many friends.
DEGORATIONDAY
OBSERVED WITH
PATRIOTIC AIR;
Kingman Honors Nation's
Heroic Dead; Great Pa
rade Marches to Cemetery
and Holds Services at the
Graves.
(From Thursday's Daily Miner.)
Kingman gave the whole of yester
day to doing honor to the nation's
heroic dead for the first time in the
history of this community and in so
doing that she did herself proud.
At the hour of 9 a. m. the several
organizations participating in this oc
casion met at the court house and
formed a line of march.
In the line were the Kingman Home
Guards, consisting of some 40 mem
bers in uniform followed by an auto
mobile load of the G. A. R. veterans,
then came the boy scouts in uniform,
the ladies of the local Red Cross as
sociation and these followed by sev
eral .hundred people of the town who
were bent on assisting to the best of
their ability in having the affairs car
ried to a successful conclusion. All
marched to the old cemetery in the
west end of town, where all of the
ceremonies were held. Rev. Thomas
H. Dodd asked the invocation, Capt.
G. R. Franklin made a few remarks
and Col. J. H. Ruberson, one' of the
attorneys of Kingman and a Civil War
veteran, gave a short speech on "Our
Country and Patriotism" that went to
the hearts of all present. He said in
part:
Praises State's Rights.
"That despite the fact that the gen
eral regard for years of every one of
the northern side of the war of the
rebellion was against everyone who
happened to be opposed to them, we
are bound to confess that one of the
good things coming from the evils of
it all is the present 'standing of the
state right, the sovereignty of the
state, for today the federal govern
ment has allowed the state' all of the
privileges possible and not inconsist
ent with the laws of the government
itself. This being true at that time
it should not be hard to forsee the
benefits accruing in the present wan
At that time the war was for a prin-,Poslllon m lne ssian Bvu

not stop until when the historians
have been brought in to record the
happenings that it shall be said that
Old Glory still has the meanings and
the sentiments that placed her in the
hearts of men."
Fire Military Salute.
After the address the firing squad
came forward and fired the regular
military salute' of three volleys over
the grave of Capt. J. C. Potts. Dr.
H. R. Shannon sounded "Taps" after
which the line of march wes resumed
and returned to its place of beginning
at the courthouse where it dispersed.
Let us all hope that we will ever
be able, from this time forth, to cele
brate each Decoration day in as thor
ough manner as this in order that
the sons and daughters to follow may
not forget the price we paid in having
gained the right to live in the grand-
est land of the earth; 'neath the mostjve;n below the lower tunnel had never
glorious flag that e'er unfurled to a
breeze.

DE LUXE EDITION
OF MINED TO BE
SENT TO MANCHURIA
From Thursday's Dally Miner)
The De Luxe edition of the Mohave
Daily Miner, which soon is to be pub
lished, will penetrate the frozen region
of Northern Asia. Kenneth J. Hleb
nikoff,, a Russian mining engineer,
who has been summoned from the
Chloride district to take charge of
some railroad construction in Man
churia for the Russian government,
called at the Miner office yesterday,
and arranged for a copy of the De
Luxe edition to be sent to him.
Mr. Hlebnikoff has been connected
with the Steffy mill at Chloride for
some time. He has been in the Unit
ed States nine years and while here
has obtained a technical education that
fits him for assuming a responsible
vada and went one year to Columbia.
He is 25 years of age.
He will be stationed on the Chinese
Eastern railway, near Harbin, Man
churia, in the province of Amur. Amur
is a Russian territory 35,000 square
miles in extent. Mr. Hlebnikoff is a

French and Italian, in addition to the
Russian tongue.
DIAMOND JOE
IS
- (Frrm Thursday's Dally Miner)
A discovery of the Diamond Joe vein
toward the south end of the property
has just been made. The ore is said
to be of the same character and value
as that found in the old workings. The
been found on the surface until the
recent discovery was made. It is pos
sible now that a tunnel will be driven
in on the vein from a deeper level and
the ore bodies penetrated several hun
dred feet below the deepest workings.
The Diamond Joe mine was discov
ered in the early eighties by Manuel
Martinez and others and was worked
by the discoverers for a number of
years. Many thousands of dollars was
produced from the superficial work
ings, and owing to the failure to use
timbers to hold the ground a large
part of the drifts caved in. New
ground was opened, but it was not as
rich as that in the old ore shoots. Un
der the management of Francis E.
Wilkinson the mine has been cleared
of debris and the workings timbered,
making it possible to open the ore
body through the old works.
BRAN NEW BABY BOY
At Los Angeles, the wife of Dr. W.
H. Bucher, early yesterday morning,
presented her husband with a ten
pound baby boy. It is said of Dr.
Bucher and his good wife that they
have monopolized the holidays for
birthdays. Dr. Bucher was bom on
New Years, his wife on Christmas and
now comes the baby boy on Memorial
Day. Nevertheless, the little stranger
is welcome in the household.
