Examination for probation officers,
It was announced from Judge Pluck
ney's court, will bo hold .Inn. 25 at
the Robert Waller School, and will bo
under tho supervision of a special

Commission. Already . 1,500 applica
tions are llled, and 500 more aro ex
pected. The most Important question
to be decided Is that concerning tho
chief probation officer. John H. Wit
ter, who was ousted from that posi
tion, will seek to get back through
the examination. Judge Plncknoy has
announced that Witter will havo tho
same chance as any other applicant.
The position pays $3,000 a year. The
other probation officers draw $S7.5o a
month each.

for tho annual convention of the To

selected by their brother officers to
