Wipe the bowl or pan to bo used

brush to mix the paint nnd gasoline,
moving It nbout until the paint Is thor
oughly dissolved. Dip Into this n

If the color proves too dark, add more
gasoline; If too light add mora paint.
Sufficient gasoline must bo poured In
the bowl to cover tho mntcrlnl to be
Prussian blue, burnt umber and
black nre very strong paints nnd very
little of them Is required to mnUo a
light tone. To make different colors
ono must mix the paints, unless the
tono required can he bought ready
mixed. The following paints will pro
duce many colors when properly
mixed: Prusslnn blue, Ivory black,
silver white, king's yellow, burnt um
ber, sienna, Naples yellow, mauve, pur
ple lake and geranium hike.
Red or geranium lake In gasollno
will tint pink. Prusslnn blue will pro
duce light blue. Blnck makes n grny
shnde; burnt umber makes tan. Sev
eral shades of brown may be produced
by mixing white nnd brown. Purple
hike makes lavender. Black may bo
mixed with green to deepen Its tone,
and whlto to lighten It. Bed nnd yel
low give nn ornngo tone; blue nnd yel
low produce green. White, hike and
vermilion mnko flesh color. Yellow,
white nnd n little Venetian make buff.
When tho material has been tinted,
squeczo it out of the gasollno nnd
shnko It In tho open air. It will dry
