THE LOS ANGELES HERALD: TUESDAY MORNING, DECEMBER 30, 1890.
THE PEOPLE'S STORE.
Our Great Clothing Reduction Sale Now
Going On.
Our Orders Are: "Reduce Your Stock !"—Prices Marked
Away Down—Books, Albums, Plush, Goods,
etc., Being Cleared Out.
People's Store, Tuesday, December 30, 1890.
Our GREAT CLOTHING REDUCTION SALE has caught the popular
fancy. Such a display as we have aud such unusual values as we are offering
couldn't help it.
Our orders are peremptory and admit of no discussion or alternative.
"REDUCE YOUR STOCK!"
Was shouted at us in stentorian tones.
"aye:, aye:, sir ! "
We replied, and looked around for a way to do it. Something must give way undt t
the strain, and we have aimed the blow straight at PRICE.
Prices must tumble, and they veritably have; for suits, pants, overconts and
children's wear have been marked way down. Not old shop worn goods that are
not worth speaking about, but fresh new goods this season, some of them not in
the house 20 days. It is like offering you a new round dollar for 90 cents, but
such are our orders. It's your advantage, so take it.
This is no "odd and end" sale —but consists of entire lines of suits—immense
piles of overcoats—tables full of pants—and shelf after shelf of boys' goods—every
size, style and grade of cloth among them.
May we suggest something in that line for a New Year present?
Our great Clearance Sale of Books, Albums, Bibles, Prayer Books, Plush Goods
and other Holiday Uoods is still going on. You can still get some fine bargains
in these things.
List of nothing on Sale Today.

CATARRH,
Throat Diseases, Asthma, Bronchitis
and Consumption
Successfully treated by
M. HILTON WILLIAMS, M. D.
M. C, P. 8. 0.,
137 S. Kroadway, Los Angeles, Cal.,
By his Aerean system ol practice, which con
sists of proper Medicate! Initiations and COM
rOUNP OSYUEN TREATMENT.
Probably no systom ot practice ever employed
has been so universally successful as the
Aerean sys'em of practice as introduced by Dr.
Williams for the cure of Catarrh, Throat Dis
eases, Asthma and Consumption.
CATARRH.
Catarrh is often regarded by the patient as
a cold in the head, and he often expresses his
astonishment at his remarkable tendency to
contract fresh cold. Indeed he declares that
he is scarcely free from one cold before he
takes another, and he is always exceedingly
careful; it is also a matter of surprise to him
that the cold always seems to settle In the
head and throat.
At times many of the symptoms of catarrh
seem to abate, and the patient is led to hope
that the disease is about to wear off; but an
other class of symptoms soon appear and he
learns to his horror, that Instead of recovery
from the disease, it is somewhat changed in its
character and has extended to the throat.
A sense of weariness is sometimes felt in
reading, speaking or singing; hoarseness at
times occurs, a sensation of dryness is felt in
the throat, or it appears that some foreign
substance, ai, for instance, a hair, obstructed
the throat; there becomes a sense ol languor
and fatigue'; the breath lessons on a little
exertion, a short, hacking cough, a ncculiar
sound in clearing the tliroat, a feeling as
though there \»as not room enough in the
chest to breathe; these and other symptoms
occur niter the d isease has made considerable
progress. Then it is a time when consumption
is about to begin its dreadful wort. Up
to this time the {progress of the disease may
have been slow and the patient may, in
expressing bis ronildcnt hope that it will
"wear off," declare that he has had the catarrh
for yean and has not seemed to become much
worse, and trusts that he will "by and by"
recover. But this delusion is the grand error
which has peopled our cemeteries with eon
l su.-nptive forms, as all forms of catarrh end
finally in consumption.
