san Francisco Market Review.
San Francisco, May 24.—The fruit market
waa very active. Orange*, in consequence of
liberal arrivals, are weaker, but without any
material change ln quotation*. Mexican limes
are Arm at quotations, and while, scarce, new
receipts by the next Panama steamer will aug
ment the supply in s4ay or two. Strawberries
are arriving very sparingly, and are arm at top
figures. Cherries enjoy a fair demand and are
steady ln prices.
The vegetable market is active. Receipts
of many varieties are too great for the require
ments, and in order to exhaust supplies can
neries arc induced to purchase at extremely
moderate figures. 'New onions aredull and de
pressed; and, owing to large receipts, new po
tatoes are also lower. SB
The market for dairy produce shows no im
provement. Supplies of all kinds are again
greatly ln excess of tiie demand, and heavy
concessions are made to effect sales. Receipts
of butter, while in better condition than last
week, are far from satisfactory. Bggs are ln
good demand, with an upward tendency for all
grades.
