went from New York avenue and Fif

and Judson, Representatives Campbell
of Kansas and Clark of Florida, "Uncle

Callow. Tho four last named will fm
nlsh the musical and entertaining fea
tures of the trip to and from tho beach.
The Rail Birds and Jolly Tars aro
playing a gamo of baseball this after
noon for a largo stiver loving cup. Sta
cey L. Heacock general oxcurslon agent,
of the beach railway. Is president of tho
club, and will look after tho comfort
and pleasure of the party.
Need More Money for
Safe and Sane Fourth
Final arrangements for tho "safo and
sane" celebration of July 4 were com
pleted at a meeting of the citizens'
committee held this morning In tho of
fice of Commissioner Cuno II Rudolph,
chairman.
So far only $1,410 has been subscribed,
and unless more money is collected It
will be necessary to materially reduco
(the display of fireworks which had been
planned. Tho committee needs 12,000,
according to statements made at tho
meeting.
Commissioner Rudolph stated that an
Invitation had been extended to repre
sentatives of Revolutionary patriotic
societies to be on the platform during
the exercises in tho Pan-American
i Union building in the morning. The
aeroplane flights will be held in tho
morning, commencing at 9 o'clock.
George O. Totten, vv ho Is looking af
'ter the aerial end of tho celebration,
'said that he also hoped to havo a hy
droplano flight at 5 o'clock in the af
ternoon. It is planned to haAe two of
the College Park aviators fly to the
polo grounds In Potomac Park. Tho
river opposite tho park.
Canoe races will be held In the af
ternoon in the Tidal Basin These
events will be under the direction of
lAdrlan Slzer, commodoro of tho Inter
Club Canoe Association
The swimming races, which will bo
under tho direction of Dr. William B.
Hudson, will be held at tho bathing
beach, beginning at 1 p. m. Prizes Mill
be awarded In all tho events.

be held In connection with the celebra

was as follows:
