A number men were on each lighter engaged in transferring tho bags of sugar to tnu Urauge Nassau, lu the early part of the day tho weather v.:is somewhat rough, but not enougn so to interfere with the work of taking on the cur^o. Tho lighter righted again just as a tremendous sort came rolling in. Madison, Fla., Oct. 27.?A duel occurred near here this afternoon in which George Graham, a northern man who had recently come here to superintend the business of the tobacco syndicate, was shot and killed by Joe Dickerson, a well known negro. The affray took place on the Quitman road, threequarters of a mile from JMadison Court Mouse. Dickerson had ridden out of town and a short time afterward Graham and John Coffee went out on the Fame road. None of the parties lived on that road. When Graham and Coffee ?ot to a valley they met Dickerson and without any warning began firing at them, lie tired several times. The first shot at Graham was fatal.
