The increased cost on an tnnual consumption of 16,000 tons (last 'ear's figures), is over 13,200. While he board would have preferred to coninue using Pittsburgh district coal, the lifference in the bids was so great that t wss considered the wiser plan to ake the cheaper Monongah coal, irhich is claimed to be as good as the 'ittsburgh district article. The coal ontract was awarded on unanimous ote of the board, Messrs. Buckman, >o))ock and Ford. The bids were as follows: Gas CoaL Mononrah Coal Company, Fairmont, V. Va.. J. C.
