Speed were hostesses at the apter meeting of the Daughters of e Confederacy Tuesday afternoon the residence of Mrs. Gambrell on lurch street. The Gambrell home is colonial in, Ject and it was very charming and propriate in 4?corations of white rysanthemums, red geraniums and arlet sage, red and white being the >nfederate colors. The double parrs were arranged to accommodate e large attendance. For the last several years the seting o fthe chapter preceding or llowing armistice day has been the casion for an appropriate proam honoring that day. This meetZ was therefore an armistice day jeting, and the following interest1 program was carried out: First came the roll call and each lughter responded with the name of Confederate veteran, a member of r family who had served through 2 Confederate war, and then the me of a member of her family 10 had served in the World War. all the members present not pne iled to respond to the roll call bh the name of the two soldiers. The Chapter next sang Dixie as a srus, and then Mrs. C. C. Gam;11 gave a reading on Armistice yjj Mrs. 'J.f M. Wilkinson read a ?m, 'The Two Uniforms"; Miss* chel McMaster recifed "Was It u?" and Mrs. Sallie Bradley playseveral selections from other days :h as "When You and I Were ung Maggie," "The Battle of una Vista," and "Lorena." The )gram was closed by the singing "America" by the whole chapter. Miss Victoria Howie was in charge the musical program and chorusDelegates were elected to the te convention to be held im Greenod next week. Mrs. Fred Cason, s. J. C. King and Mrs. J.
