Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Munnerlyn of
Bennettsville are here visiting Mr.
and Mrs. J. R. Cantelou.
Mr. Samuel Marcus of Andrews,
S. C., is here visiting his sister, Mrs.
Israel Mukashy.
Mr. W. A. Agerton of Henderson
ville, N. C., is a guest in the home
of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Jones.
Mr. and Mrs. James Denny of
Cross Hill vere guests of Mr. J. L.
Addison and Miss Virginia Addison
Sunday.
Misses Alice ?ardner and Pearl
White, trained nurses of Augusta,
were visitors in Edgefield Monday.
Mr. John Mims is now serving Mr.
Bettis Cantelou as assistant in his
livestock and vehicle business..
The concrete bridge across Bea
ver Dam at the trestle has been com
pleted. This is another link com
pleted in the Dixie Highway.
Mr. Victor Daitch who recently
received his honorable discharge
from the army is serving as sales
man for Daitch Bros.
Miss Patti Major was a resident
fo Buncombe last year but will make
her home during the ensuing months
with Mrs. Helen Nicholson.
Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Robinson of
Columbia were visitors in Edgefield
Thursday. Mr. Robinson has large
lumber interests in this county.
Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Holstein left
Sunday for New York. During Mr.
Holstein's absence Major W. A. Col
lett is at the Penn & Holstein drug
store.
f Mr. W M. Harling will erect an
other brick store near the station as
soon as he can obtain the material.
It will be occupied by Mr. P. B.
Thomas as a dry goods store.
Mrs. P. B. Mayson has gone to the
University Hospital in Augusta for
treatment. Her freinds sincerely
hope that she will soon return fully
restored to her health.
Scores and hundreds of rural
homes should be equipped with a
Delco electric light system. See the
large advertisement this week of Mr.
W. J. Hatcher, of Johnston, the
representative for this section.
Miss Elizabeth Wells has returned
to St. Angela's Academy in Aiken.
She has made a fine record at that
institution, having won a gold medal
for obedience and the most perfect
lessons.
On our fifth page this week will
be found the quarterly statements
of all six banks in the county, three
at Johnston, one at Trenton and
two at Edgefield. The banks of the
'county are the pride of the county.
It will be interesting to study these
statements.
Besides the bank statements this
week The Advertiser carries new ad
vertisements of The Corner Store,
E. S. Rives, Daitch Bros., Bank of
Trenton, Bank of Western Carolina
and The Columlbia Supply Co.
Messrs. Yonce and Mooney an
nounce that they have acquired the
territory heretofore served by the
Parksvil le Ford agency. These two
progressive young business men are
a valuable asset to Edgefield.
. Mr. T. A. Williams of Red Hill
has been sorely afflicted with rheu
matism for some time and left Tues
day for White Springs, Fla. He was
accompanied from Augusta by Dr.
J. N. Crafton. We trust that he will
be greatly benefitted by the trip.
The Postal Telegraph Company is
stretching two additional wires over
its line from Aiken to Greenwood.
The force of workmen are now
camping near Edgefield. It is hoped
that the Postal Company will estab-p
lish a local office in Edgefield.
School district solicitors'are urged
to complete the canvass of their,
respective school districts for enroll
ing members of the Cotton Associa-J
tion. If any district is not being
worked it should be reported to Mr. J ]
W. A. Strom, the county president.
Miss Marie Abney will give a mu
sical at her home Friday night for
the benefit of the carpet fund of the
Presbyterian church An interesting
program has been arranged. The ad
mission fee will be 15 cents for ,
adults, and 10 cents for children.
Last Saturday afternoon Mr. B. L.

The movie manager who has work
ed hard to give Edgefield regular at
tractions has secured "Red, White
and Blue," a strong attraction in six
reels. The stars are Bushman and
Bayne.

Thursday afternoon Mrs. Bettis
Dantelou entertained very delight
fully at cards in honor of Mrs. Ma
rier Lawton. Soon after being very
rraciously received the guests were
seated about the four tables that
were arranged. At the close of a
spirited game wich also afforded a
/ery pleasant social hour, the score
showed that Miss Mae Tompkins had
won first prize. The hostess also pre
sented the guest of honor with a
