Christmas..
Another Christmas has come and
pone, and judging from ear ewn feel
ings and what we saw -it wvas one of the
happiest occasions that hau'e been ex
perienced for many years. ~Every one
was happy,- and they bad cause to be,
and we trust that thanks wer, given to
the Ahoithty Dispenser of our gifts for
'the unumberless blessings enjoyed. The
salutation **Christmas Gift" was sung
by young and old. alan to the young
peopl, it was no idle or profitless ex
pression, gints were showered profusely
a every hand. and-purse strings were
lef'tnitied. There wei-e more big: din.
nors than ever before,in which the kingly
gobbler figured as the principal feature,
lanked by plum puddings, mince pies
and other ajuncts, andon which fathers,
mthers, anesies, sats, family and
friends generally feasted largely and
long. Indedit was ahappy time. No
accdents happened, we are glad to say.
We hope that every reader of the
UERA.D enjoyed Christmas day as wej
did, and to one and all we .extend thil
wish that they may have many -byjpy
returs of the -same... Good-by, dear
reader, tiHl we meet in the year 1888.
