Thc lu'-gc orowd which assembled to wit

wu s certainly gratifying in a high degree
to tho managers. Tho largo tents were
crowded, aud ut night, notwithstanding tho
rain had becu fulling in torrents, and thc
grounds wero muddy and covered with
pools of water, tho managers wore compelled
to put in extra scats, which wero imtncdi
ntcly filled. Tho show was one of great
excellence, and its success in this place
may bc largely attributed to the manage
ment of Mr. Willis Cobb, who seems espe
cially udaptcd to his situation. Tho throe
clowns were a pleasing feat uro of tho show
and some of thc local hits they mado were
very happy. Tho horizontal bar champi
ons, Dunbar and Reno, were experts. The
equestrian performances wero of tho high
est order, and some of tho acts wero truly
thrilling. M'llo Idclletta and Monecurs
Wallace in their tight rope performances
were thc authors of deeds of startling, dur
irg and strength. Tho bioyclo Whirling
through tho uir was a new and interesting
foulure. Tho tumbling was moro than

ture of tho stupendous collection of
amusements surpassed (ho most ardent
