Imaginings of fiction.
Binghamton, N. Y., Nov. 15.-Re

first mooting which he recalls was
when ho was twelve years old, and at
that timo they wero told they were
brother and sister.
Ho saw her again last summer, and
it was then thal the romance, based,
says John, on "truo love," started.
But lt was tn October that John
fell in love, when he met bis sister in
Now York. Tho girl was beautiful
and well formed.
The elopement wns carefully plan
ned, and on Nov. 1, according to tho
Binghamton ollleial records, n mar
riage license was obtained. Eliza
beth gave her last name as llafner.
John admitted that he misstated his
nge when ho gavo it as 2 2.
Tho following day the couple went
to Conklin, a suburb ol' this city, and
wore married hy E. R. Evans, justico
of the peace.
They returned to this elly and
lived at Ibo homo of Mrs. Peeplo.who
Was away at tho Hmo.
When Mrs. People returned and
was told what had happened, sho sep
arated the couple. According to Mrs.
People, tho three planned to keep
tho matter secret and havo the mar
riage quietly annulled.
