AN ORDINANCE.
To Amend an Ordinance to
Raise Supplies -fox- tHe Fiscal
Year &-e.
Be it Ordolnod &o ;
1. That the CUrk of Council shall colloct
all taxes aad licenses.
2. That in cases where the ownership of
pi sportv has changed slnoe the last assess
ment, the Clerk shall enter such property in
the name of its present owner.
8. That in cases of improvements and
betterments of property slnoe the last assess
ment, and prior to th* ?rat day of April,
1874, thb Clerk shall a id to the amount at
which euch proporty has been aaso.^sed, tbs
value of such improvements or betterments,
lo be ascertained upon oath of th? owner of
such proporty, filed with the said Clerk.
Provided, That when the value returned by
the owner be deemed by the Clerk to be less
than tho real value of such improvements,
the Clerk shall refer such return to Council,
who shall theu assess the sarao.

Normal School, approved Feb'y, 187J, a
Free Public Competitive Examination wil
be held at this Office on Monday the 20th
instant, of all persons desirous To become
Fupiln of the State Normal School. The
Examination will be conducted in the same
manner as Exaraina'ion* for Third Gride
Teachers' Certificates. To secure Admis
sion into the Junior Class of the Normal,
School, the applicant, if a ?aale must be!
fifteen (lf?) veare of age, and if a female1
fourteen (It) years of age. To enter an

said County Commissioners have not to

with strict regard to the provisions of tho
constitution and laws of the State touching
your duty in such ease, to cause an election
to be held in the said county ea tha FIRST
TUESDAY following the FIRST MONDAY
in NOVEMBER NEXT, to fill said vaean

be closed on the said day of election, aad
anv person who ahall sell any intoxicating
drinks on said day ef election shall be deem*
ed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on con
viction thereof, ahall be fined a sum of not

month nor more than six months.
