"A dead flower
Will long be kept, remembrancer of looks
That mado each leaf a treasure."
,,When shall we come to that delightful day
When each shall say to each 'Doet thots re
Let us fill urns with rose-leaves,in our May,
.Andhive the thrifty sweetness for Decem
Where the winds are sighing,
And the willows shiver,
Quiet little biooklet,
Hastening to the river;
Alders drooping lowly,
Reeds and grasses blowing,
Slope of shady woodland,
Waters softly flowing
Part in golden sun-light,
Part in shidow sleeping,
Blushed this little wild-rese,
Dewy tear-drops weeping.
"Wilt thou take the emblem?"
Murmured by the deareit;
Little rose tho' faded,
That sweet voice thou hearest:
-Grey eyes dark and earnest
Thou art still recalling --
Brows like ebon arches,
Lashes ever failing,
Sit I in the twilight,
Watch Orion gleam'ng,
Kiss the faded petali
Of the giver dreaming;
Rose, I kiss thy petals,
Tell me of the morrow
Whisper as you wither,
"Love is born of sorrow
With the seasons changing,
(May is not December)
Tell me, will he change with then ?
Or-will he remember?
