Some mouths ago Bowles, Milla
?gan and Horsey, civilians, were tried
by a military commission, at Wash?
ington, on a charge of conspiracy,
and convicted. They were sen ter ced
to be hung, bot President Johnson
commuted their sentence to imprison?
ment for life. The case has been
brought np before the United States
Supreme Court, which tribunal de?
