Revolutionary soldier, {Samuel Dunn,
<:f New York, is now living, has
brought out the ^leadville Republican,
which states that another Revolntion
ary hero is still living; in Sandusky,
New York. His mime is Matthias
Bakeman, and he receives a pension
from tlie Government. Being born
in 1755, he is now lil years old, and
his daughter, over 80 years of age,
keep-; house for him. He enjoys
excellent health, can walk about, and
eyery Fourth of July fires from his
old fowling-piece a salute in memory
of auld laug syne.
Tlie. Vicksburg (Miss.) Herald, in
an article on labor, says it hopes the
order of Gen. "Wood in relation to
feeding the freedmen, will bc with?
held until it is demonstrated, if ever,
that assistance is really needed, and
then turn bis supplies over to the
State authorities for proper distri?
