INTERESTING STATE OF AFFATES IN
IDAHO TEKRITOET.-Tho members of
tho Legislature of Idaho Territory
have refiisofl to take the oath i#io
scribed by Luv, and consequently the
Secretary of tho Territory refuses to
pay them their claims. It is reported
that a majority of these legislators
formerly belonged to the. Confederate
array under General Price, and they
now* threaten to seize by force the
funds of tho Territory. Governor
Ballard culled upon Colonel Sinclair,
in command at Fort Boise, to protect
tho ?Secretary and ibo Territorial
funds. Colonel Sioolair-immediately
dispatched fifty men, under Lieut.
Green, had all his men put under
arms, and mounted extra gnus at the
Pw^rr-EOADS IN TEXAS.-Texas has
built 425 miles of railroad, form?
ing four grand trunks, diverging
North. South, East and West from
the city of Houston, and affording
ample room for lateral roads when
the wants of the country shall require
them. The Houston Telegraph says
these main arteries of trade will,
when completed, not only link the
railway system of Texas with the
vast net-work of roads in the North?
west, but with those of the States
East of tho Mississippi, but, further,
will bring through Texas the pro?
ducts of the wealthiest Mexican
States in the onward course of civili?
zation towards the Pacific Ocean.
