LEE.-Mrs. Keckley, the colored ser? vant of Mr. Lincoln's family, says that on tho very morning of the assassination, President Lincoln took up a portrait of Gen. Lee, scanned the face thoughtfully, and said: "It is a good face; it is tho faco of a noble, noble, brave man. I om glad that the war is over at last." Look? ing up at his son Robert, he conti? nued: "Well, my son, you havo re? turned safely from the front. The war is now closed, and we will soon livo in peace with the brave men that bavo been fighting against us. I tr nat that the era ol good feeling has returned with the close of the war, and that henceforth we shall Uve in peaoe. " Were President Lincoln not dead, he would, for such sayings and thoughts as these, be denounced as a first class, double-dyed traitor by those who have now tho hypocrisy to pretend reverence for his memory.
