SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, now met and sitting in General Assembly, and by the authority of tho sume, That tho Go? vernor bo authorized to appoint ns ninny Notaries Publie throughout the State us the public good shall require, to hold thoir offices during tho pleasure of the Governor for the timo beiug, whoso jurisdiction shall extend throughout the State. SEC. 2. That every Notary Public shall tyiko tho oath of ollico prescribed by the Constitution, a certificate of which oath shall be recorded in tho oflico of thu Seoretary of Stato. SEC. 3. That every Notary Public shall bavo a seul of ofilce, which shall bo affixed to his instrument s nf publication, and to his protestations; but tho ab? sence of such soal shall not render his acts invnlicd, provided his official title bo afllxed. SEO. d. That Notaries Public shall have power to administer oaths, take depositions and affidavits, protest for n on-pay innot bonds, notes, d ruffs and bills of oxchaogo, tulse acknowledgments and proofs of deeds, au tl other instru? ments required by law to bo acknow? ledged, and take renunciations of dowe! and inheritance. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by tho Senate and House of Representatives of tlx Stato of South Curoliua, now met nm sitting in General Assembly, and by thc authority of tho same. That BO much o the Act of 1830 as ptohibits tho Clerk; of the various Courts of tho Stato fron noting us Attorneys nud Solicitors in tin Courts of the Stato bc, and tho same ii hereby, repealed. 8BC. 2. That from and after tho pas cage of this Act, the Clerks of thi di lieront Courts of this Stato shall huv< the privilege of acting as Attorneys ant Solicitors iu all tho Courts of the State except in the Courts of thoir respeotivi Counties: Provided, such Clerks shu! have complied with tho requirements o an Act to regulato the udmission of per sons to practice us Attorneys, Solicitor and Conusollors in tho Courts of thi State, approved tho 23d day of Septem ber A. SEC 2.
